How do I create an invoice for a couple?
Before you begin
To determine whether you should create a separate invoice for each member of a couple, refer to your professional order’s guidelines as well as the tax requirements applicable in your jurisdiction.

Information entered on an invoice is automatically carried over to the next invoice. If you invoice different clients within the same record, some fields will need to be updated manually. The updated information will then be saved for future invoices.
Steps to follow
- Create a new invoice in the couple’s record.
- Identify the people who received the service.
- If the record title contains both first names, they will automatically appear in the invoice’s Client field.
- You can also enter both first names manually if needed.
- Indicate who the invoice is billed to.
- The Bill to field must contain the first and last name of the person responsible for paying for the session.
- Adjust the invoice based on the situation.
- Only one person is paying for the session: Enter only that person’s name in the Bill to field.
- The session fees are shared: Create two separate invoices, each reflecting the amount paid by each person.
- Payments alternate between sessions: Simply update the name in the Bill to field when creating future invoices.
