How do I create a couple or family record?

To decide whether to create one record per person or a single record for a couple or family, refer to the requirements of your professional order or the standards that govern your practice.

If you choose to create a couple or family record, each person must first have their own individual profile, which will then be linked to the same record.

Method 1: Add profiles before creating the record

  1. In the Profiles tab, create an individual profile for each member of the couple or family.
  2. Go to the Records tab, then click Add record.
  3. In the Associated profiles field, search for and select each member to add.
  4. Click Create record.
  5. Once the record is created, select Add information to the record, then rename it (e.g., Tremblay–Roy Couple or Dubois Family).

By default, the record title corresponds to the name of the first associated profile.

Method 2: Add profiles while creating the record

  1. Click Add record.
  2. In the Associated profiles field, enter a member’s first and last name, then click Add new profile.
  3. Enter their contact information, then click Create.
  4. Repeat for each member of the couple or family.
  5. Click Create record.
  6. Select Add information to the record, then rename it appropriately.

Things to consider

  1. If you enable appointment reminders by email, they will be sent only to the first profile linked to the record.
  2. Invoices automatically reuse the information from the previous invoice. If you need to bill different clients within the same record, you will need to update this information manually (it will then be saved for future invoices).
