How can I import my client records from another platform into Psylio?

We know that switching from one platform to another can feel tedious. Your client records contain sensitive information, and it’s important to transfer them carefully.

While it’s not possible to automatically import your client records into Psylio, there is a simple and secure way to transfer your information and continue your follow-ups with confidence.

Before you begin: prioritize your active records

We recommend starting with your active records—the ones for clients you’re currently supporting. This will help you get back to work in Psylio quickly and smoothly. Once your active records are transferred, you can decide whether to also import your archived records or keep them securely stored outside the platform.

Step 1: Create your records

Start by creating a record for each person you support.
  1. Go to the Records tab.
  2. Click Add record.
  3. Enter the person’s name in the Associated profiles field, then click Add a new profile.
Info
You can edit the record title or add details later in the Record information tab.

Step 2: Complete your client profiles

Once your records are created, fill out the client profiles according to the type of follow-up:
  1. Individual record: Complete the client’s profile in the Associated profiles tab.
  2. Couple, family, or group record: Add additional client profiles within the same record, still in Associated profiles, by clicking Add.
This allows you to centralize all shared information (notes, documents, and interventions) in one place. For more details, consult the following article: How do I create a couple/family record?

Step 3: Upload important documents

In each record, upload your existing documents in the Documents tab, such as:
  1. Progress notes
  2. Follow-up documents
  3. Relevant attachments

This ensures you have everything you need to maintain continuity in your follow-ups.

Step 4: Manage your archived or inactive records

Once your active records are transferred into Psylio, you can:
  1. Also import your archived records by following the same steps, then move them to the Archived records section.
  2. Or keep your archived records externally, if allowed by your professional order.
If you choose to keep them externally:
  1. Use a secure storage device (USB key, external hard drive, etc.).
  2. Protect the files with a password.
  3. Keep at least one backup copy of important data that you don’t transfer to Psylio. For data transferred into Psylio, backups are automatically handled by the platform.
No matter which method you choose, you always stay in control of how your records are organized and how your data is protected. Our goal is to make your transition to Psylio as smooth and reassuring as possible.
